The HUUS QUELL, the first 5-star superior hotel in Appenzellerland, has been welcoming guests since October 15, 2025. As the third hotel of the Appenzeller Huus, the new HUUS QUELL completes the A Lifestyle Wellness Community concept. QUELL SPA: tranquillity, strength, vitality
Inspired by the elements of rock, mountain lake and alpine forest, the luxurious 2,200 m² spa extends over a total of three floors. It has nine plunge and floating pools, various saunas, steam baths and a floating yoga platform. Together with the infinity pool with fantastic views of the Alpstein mountains and the Säntis, the QUELL SPA offers everything you need to relax body and soul. Another highlight is the "L3 - Long Lasting Lifestyle Circle", which combines state-of-the-art longevity treatments in a way that is unique in Europe. It comprises the three pillars of Wellbeing, Holistic Health and Activity & Nature and is specifically geared towards cellular regeneration, mental clarity and sustainable vitality.

Culinary delights with character - sharing and regionality
HUUS QUELL also reflects its philosophy of mindfulness in culinary terms and takes its guests on a journey between regional roots and modern flavors. In the RESTAURANT QUELL, the motto "Sharing is caring" takes center stage: exactly 100 dishes to share - from Swiss specialties and classics to international recipes - will surprise guests. In the BOTANICUM BAR, classic cocktails with local fruits and herbs such as alpine rose are created in an innovative way. In keeping with the hotel's healthy and mindful lifestyle, signature drinks are created with a strong connection to the region and inspired by local products such as the Appenzeller Biber.

Traditional craftsmanship meets modern sustainability
Like its historic neighbors BÄREN and LÖWEN, the HUUS QUELL was built using traditional Appenzell timber knitting methods from local moon wood. This completes the circle of a project that unites craftsmanship, culture and sustainability in a unique way. The interior of the house also remains true to its origins: all the fabrics and textiles come from the renowned traditional St. Gallen atelier Jakob Schlaepfer, which is known worldwide for its artfully crafted materials. HUUS QUELL thus combines local craftsmanship with international design and creates an ambience that invites you to feel at home.
