Design boutique hotel stieg'nhaus opens in Salzburg
Quiet-Luxury in Mühlbach am Hochkönig
New era of "Quiet Luxury": The stieg'nhaus opens in Salzburger Land
Design, retreat and culinary sophistication come together in Mühlbach am Hochkönig to create a unique boutique hotel concept
On June 12, 2025, the stieg'nhaus in Mühlbach am Hochkönig will launch an extraordinary hotel project that reinterprets the philosophy of "Quiet Luxury". Six suites, a clear design line and a focus on exclusivity, aesthetics and personal quality make the new design boutique hotel a special retreat for conscious travelers.
Two career changers, one vision
Behind the project are Maria and Tom Heidenreich - career changers from the IT industry who have created a refuge for slowing down with an unconventional view of the hotel industry. With a clearly curated concept inspired by the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic, the hotel combines natural materials such as stone, wood and linen in finely tuned harmony. The centerpiece is the preserved staircase, which gives the hotel its name and is the design basis for the entire room concept.
Design suites, self-care & fine-dining cuisine
Each of the six suites is individually designed and has names such as "pergola", "aura" or "cubo". The furnishings are made to measure, with selected fragrances and beauty highlights from Omorovicza and woods_copenhagen. Culinary highlights are provided by chef Benjamin Jochum with his menu concept based on the five elements. He is supported by a top-class team, including sommelier Alexander Adlgasser and host Florian Straschik.
Experiences between mindfulness and adventure
In addition to yoga, massages and beauty rituals, guests can take part in herbal hikes, fire ring dinners or helicopter flights - always with the aim of focusing on tranquillity, nature and personal memories.
