The Emerald Faarufushi is coming
Forest bathing in the Maldives from May 2022
When Italy comes to the Maldives, only good things can come of it. The Italian brand Emerald Collection has already proven this impressively with the five-star Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa. Now the company is adding another luxury resort to its portfolio in the Maldives: Emerald Faarufushi, a tropical resort with many architectural - and botanical - highlights, will open in May 2022.
Island hopping in Raa Atoll
Just a short speedboat ride away from Emerald Maldives is the new Emerald Faarufushi in Raa Atoll. It is surrounded by turquoise blue ocean, white sandy beaches and lined with palm trees. No surprise there. And yet the island is a little different. The hearts of all nature lovers will beat faster when they walk through the avenue of meter-high palm trees into one of the 80 beach villas. These blend in perfectly with nature and are kept so simple that their elegant architecture does not get in the way of the beauty of nature.
Outdoor rain showers surrounded by green plants, views of the turquoise ocean from the bedroom and interiors dominated by natural materials reinforce the feeling of residing in the middle of nature. Plenty of natural light thanks to meter-high glass fronts and private pools complement the villas. The spa with its eight air-conditioned spa suites is also surrounded by greenery as far as the eye can see. In addition to the steam bath, yoga pavilion and treatments, guests can also recharge their batteries in the forest baths. They can then recharge their batteries on the tennis court, in the air-conditioned gym or with water sports.
While the island is dominated by greenery, the house reef shimmers in the most beautiful colors. Snorkelers can embark on their snorkeling safari directly from their own reef deck. Divers can get their diving license and dive into even more magnificent worlds.
Italian lifestyle
A resort that belongs to an Italian brand can't help but serve excellent food. Foodies can look forward to five restaurants and two bars. Each has a different culinary focus, but as in its sister resort, the Mediterraneo restaurant is primarily dedicated to Mediterranean cuisine. All restaurants and bars are designed so that the sunset becomes the impressive backdrop to every dinner. Food and drinks are included in the island's luxurious all-inclusive concept, as are spirits, water sports activities and the Dolphin Kids Club for guests up to the age of 12.
