Bavarian hospitality meets Chiemsee sushi
The traditional Chiemsee has had a trendy new address since February 1: The Chiemgauhof Lakeside Retreat, LHW member and architectural masterpiece from the pen of Milan star architect Matteo Thun, opened here directly on the southern shore. The luxurious retreat is in the tradition of the legendary Chiemgauhof with its old wooden barns and oiled oak floorboards. The 28 suites all face the lake, offer plenty of individual flair and some have private gardens and direct access to the water. "Fine Bavarian hospitality meets Chiemsee sushi and regionally inspired soul food" is the motto of the hotel's restaurant. A Frauscher e-boat is available for cruises on the lake, as well as an 18-metre pool for a dip in the cool water. In future, the Chiemgauhof will ring in the blue hour with a stroke of the gong, when guests can enjoy an aperitif in the "Beach Club" in preparation for the evening highlight: the sunset.
