Château La Commaraine: Burgundy’s first five-star vineyard hotel is set to open in 2026.

A historic winery in Pommard combines luxury, fine dining, and authentic wine experiences

Château La Commaraine will usher in a new era of wine tourism in Burgundy in the spring of 2026. Nestled among the renowned Premier Cru vineyards of Pommard, it will be the region’s first five-star hotel located directly on an active winery.

The historic estate, whose origins date back to 1112, has been meticulously restored and now marries its rich heritage with contemporary luxury. In the future, guests will be able to immerse themselves deeply in the fascinating world of Burgundy wine. The offerings include exclusive wine experiences such as workshops in the vineyard, cellar tours, and tastings, as well as bespoke “wine safaris” through the region’s most celebrated vineyards. The Château is also raising the benchmark for culinary excellence. Michelin-starred chef Christophe Raoux is overseeing the gastronomic direction and will present Michelin-level cuisine in two restaurants. Further enhancing the experience are a spa and an 18-metre heated outdoor pool overlooking the surrounding vines.

Moreover, the hotel’s location affords a wealth of opportunities to explore Burgundy actively—whether via hot-air balloon rides, bicycle excursions through picturesque villages, or cultural forays to the region’s historic abbeys.

With its unique combination of centuries-old history, luxurious hospitality, and authentic wine culture, Château La Commaraine is setting new standards in European wine tourism and is already poised to be one of the most exciting hotel openings of 2026.
