Amancaya: Aman opens first luxury resort in the Bahamas

With the announcement of Amancaya, the brand is writing a new chapter - this time in the Bahamas, more precisely on two private islands in the Exumas archipelago, known for its white beaches, turquoise waters and first-class diving spots.

Two islands, one promise: Retreat at the highest level

The name "Amancaya" comes from the Taíno language and means "peaceful island". The new project embodies precisely this philosophy: 36 pavilions and an exclusive number of residences offer retreats with maximum privacy in the midst of Caribbean nature.

An Aman Spa, a marina, a beach club and several restaurants are also being built on the two islands. The residences and facilities blend stylishly into the surroundings - in keeping with the Aman DNA: simplicity, space, tranquillity and timelessness.

Partnership with Dona Bertarelli: luxury meets vision

The project is made possible by the collaboration with the Swiss entrepreneur, philanthropist and sailing athlete Dona Bertarelli , who has a deep personal connection to Exuma. "Amancaya guests will be able to enjoy the same sense of discovery and personal connection with the local community and culture that I was able to experience in Exuma, while immersing themselves in the unparalleled beauty of nature," says Bertarelli.

As with all of the brand's new projects, the focus at Amancaya is on sustainability. The resort is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With its secluded location and gentle, well thought-out design approach, Amancaya is becoming a blueprint for responsible high-end tourism in sensitive ecosystems.
