Alpzitt Chalets Gilb

Life is too short for someday

"Old wood. Alpzitt. Allgäu." When reclaimed wood tells stories and craftsmanship becomes an attitude, then Holzbau Maier is behind it. With a lot of love for the material and a feeling for the real thing, we were able to realize the Alpzitt chalets of the Gilb family - built from wood, feeling and passion.

Between craftsmanship and heaven - where wood tells stories
In the heart of the Allgäu, at the foot of the Grünten, lies a place where naturalness and craftsmanship become one - and every piece of wood breathes the spirit of the mountains: the Alpzitt Chalets of the Gilb family in Burgberg. Here, landscape, architecture and craftsmanship merge into an overall experience. Wood is not just a building material - it is soul, attitude and emotion.

From the first chalet to the premium class by the lake
Since the ground-breaking ceremony, Holzbau Maier has accompanied the project as a holistic partner - from the cozy chalets to the premium chalets on the lake, which will open in autumn 2025. The Wiesen Chalets, the Honeymoon Suite, the new wellness area and the reception also bear the company's unmistakable signature.

Reclaimed wood with character - sustainability in action
What immediately catches the eye is the interplay of woods: chopped and sunburnt reclaimed wood characterizes the appearance - both inside and out. The chalets are built in timber frame construction with a double roof, the façades and soffits in original reclaimed wood, complemented by fine interior cladding made from a lively wood composition.

Design meets craftsmanship
The details tell of true mastery: Swiss stone pine beds with dovetail joints, bathroom furniture in volcanic oak look, kitchens in cement look as a contrast to the warm wood. Even the loungers, specially constructed from chopped old wood, exude a love of craftsmanship.
In the wellness area, all the interior paneling, changing rooms, relaxation areas and the kitchenette were made by Holzbau Maier - combined with black flat steel elements for a contemporary, alpine design. Outside, movable old wood slats and a curved larch wood terrace frame the natural bathing lake - harmonious, precise, authentic.

A material with soul - and a team with heart
Over 3000 m² of reclaimed wood was used for the project - every board is unique, every grain a story. Here, technology meets emotion, architecture meets atmosphere, modernity meets tradition.
When you enter the Alpzitt Chalets, you immediately sense that they were built with dedication. Not at some point. But now. Holzbau Maier - that's what our heart beats for.
