Opening of the new AlmAsia pop-up restaurant
Lovers of fusion cuisine can now look forward to a Styrian-Asian culinary concept on a higher level. An exquisite culinary fusion awaits visitors to the Almenland Nature Park, where the new AlmAsia pop-up restaurant at the Almwellness Hotel Pierer opened its doors on May 16. From now on, seven unusual courses will transport guests to the Far East - on the Alm.
Oasis for moments of pleasure from natural cuisine. The pop-up concept initiated by the Pierer hotelier family invites you on a culinary journey that combines classic ingredients such as Almenland beef tartare with modern Asian accents such as fermented celery, radicchio and yeast miso. Inspired by traditional Japanese cuisine, the menu offers an incomparable taste experience for lovers of fusion cuisine as well as discerning gourmets and cosmopolitan palates. For vegans, there are special creations that include meat-free alternatives such as tofu, wild garlic, yuzu elderberry, verbena and fermented tomato jam, which underline the diversity and innovative power of vegan cuisine. Under the creative direction of executive chef Lovro Balind, one of Rolling Pin's 100 Top Chefs 2023, the modern restaurant concept combines traditional elements of Alpine cuisine with the subtle nuances of Asia. Balind brings his impressive experience from previous positions, including at Haller's Geniesserhotel in Kleinwalsertal, to the table. "We wanted to create something new and innovative for our guests and are more than convinced by the Styrian-Asian concept. Lovro Balind and his kitchen team have also created a really exceptionally delicious menu", says Managing Director Franz Pierer enthusiastically.
