Chronomaster El Primero Full Open

A clear view of the legendary mechanism: the famous automatic chronograph Chronomaster El Primero " Full Open " from Zenith is aptly named, as it can now show the heart of its performance and precision thanks to the fully open and skeletonized dial.

Understanding the roots of the iconic Chronomaster collection, Zenith offers the legendary El Primero chronograph in three different versions: with a fully closed dial (Closed), with a semi-open dial (Open) and now also with a fully open dial (Full Open) - the latter version being the most recent and therefore THE novelty of 2017.

The main advantage: the full opening allows customers to visually perceive and admire the high frequency of the movement, which is the hallmark of the legendary El Primero movement, an integrated chronograph with column wheel and automatic winding made up of 326 components (including 31 jewels) that beats at the breathtaking rate of 5 Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour), achieving a measured and displayed accuracy of one tenth of a second. Characteristics inherited from its illustrious ancestor, the world's most accurate series chronograph developed by Zenith in 1969.

Although the mechanics have now been fully unveiled, some subtle references to the historic 1969 El Primero original remain: In the 38 mm version, the date window has been positioned at 4.30 o'clock - just like the original. The famous blue color is also present, exactly matching the tone of the historical version. In combination with the two other colors, anthracite and rhodium, the result is a perfect harmony that makes the movement look its best.

Three additional dials complete the overall picture: a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock, the 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock and the small seconds counter at 9 o'clock, which is particularly useful for checking the exact rate of the movement. The silver chapter ring, the black and white minute division and the fluorescent faceted indices and hands ensure optimum legibility without obscuring the view of the fascinating gear train. The elegant Zenith signature is printed on the inside of the sapphire crystal.

The case, in turn, echoes the historic shape of the famous El Primero chronograph from 1969. Since its modernization in 2010, this case has become indispensable and is offered in all diameters as the quintessence of Zenith's classic, timeless style. It goes without saying that the case back is open and reveals an uncompromisingly modern architecture through the sapphire crystal.

The imposing, robust and racy chronograph stands out and draws the eye to Zenith's cutting-edge mechanics. It is available in either a 38 mm or 42 mm diameter in stainless steel or two-tone stainless steel with an 18-carat rose gold bezel, with an alligator leather strap (black for the steel version and brown for the two-tone rose gold version) or in metal. Power reserve over 50 hours. Water-resistant to 100 meters.
