The first Søstrene Grene store in Switzerland
"Hygge" and Scandinavian design for Zurich
Stylish chairs, elegant glass vases, wooden kitchen accessories, wool in delicate colors and much more: these are just some of the things that the Swiss will be able to discover when the Danish interior chain Søstrene Grene opens its first Swiss store on Rennweg in Zurich this autumn. The brand from Denmark has been expanding rapidly throughout Europe for several years. Søstrene Grene was founded in 1973 in Aarhus, Denmark. The chain has now grown to over 160 stores in 12 countries and is currently expanding very successfully in countries such as Germany, France and the Netherlands - in Germany alone, more than 15 stores have been opened since the market launch in June 2016. Customer feedback has been overwhelming across all markets. Now the time has come for Switzerland.
Sandra Freund, the new franchise partner for Switzerland, is looking forward to the opening in Zurich: "A year and a half ago, I visited a Søstrene Grene store for the first time on a business trip through Germany. I walked in and immediately thought: I have to bring this concept to Switzerland. As soon as you enter the store, you immediately feel good. I'm sure that the Nordic design, the aesthetics of the products and this very special atmosphere in the stores will fit perfectly in Switzerland. We want to open numerous Søstrene Grene stores here over the next few years. But for now, I'm really looking forward to welcoming people from Zurich and the surrounding area to our first Swiss store. I hope they will all have the same wonderful experience as I did on my first visit to Søstrene Grene."
Søstrene Grene (translated: The Grene sisters)
specializes in home and kitchen accessories, gift packaging, DIY items, stationery and small furniture. The brand stands for a Scandinavian design language and a variety of different items that make the home more beautiful - and always at affordable prices. A constantly changing product range ensures that every visit is a new, unique experience for customers, and the design of the stores is also designed to make the visit a relaxing break from everyday stress for customers while they browse the shelves for new finds. The stores are designed like labyrinths, with soft, subdued lighting and classical background music creating a pleasant shopping atmosphere.
The colorful items are neatly
and nicely arranged on wooden crates that are easily accessible to everyone - because customers are expressly encouraged to touch the products and take a closer look. At the heart of the brand are the stories of Anna and Clara Grene, two elderly sisters who work tirelessly and with a lot of love to make people's everyday lives that little bit nicer. Søstrene Grene was founded in 1973 by the Grene family in their home town of Aarhus in Denmark and is still family-owned to this day. CEO Mikkel Grene is particularly pleased to now include Switzerland in the large Søstrene Grene family. "Switzerland has a long design tradition, so the Swiss appreciate good design and value a tastefully furnished home. It is therefore a great pleasure and honor for us to bring the Søstrene Grene concept to Switzerland. As we continue to expand our international presence, we can welcome more and more people into our universe, which we affectionately call 'the wonderful world of Anna and Clara'. Zurich will be the first, but certainly not the last store in this beautiful country - we are already looking at other possible locations," says Mikkel Grene.
