Taiwan

The enchanting island

Now that the spread of COVID-19 has slowed down, Taiwan will be one of the world's most popular travel destinations by example.

Hip megacities such as Taipei or Kaohsiung with their modern architecture and vibrant nightlife characterize Taiwan just as much as cliffs, rainforests, rice fields or tropical beaches. Above all, however, the island state in the West Pacific impresses with its breathtaking mountain world, with more than 200 mountain peaks rising above the 3,000 meter mark. Hundreds of kilometers of hiking and cycling trails and a well-developed road network make these natural treasures accessible.

In 2020, transit travelers can also take part in a free half-day tour in Taipei if they have between 7 and 24 hours stopover time in Taipei. Stroll through the 300-year-old historic streets of Sanxia and be enchanted by the ornate facades of the late Qing period. Or visit one of the most famous temples in Taipei, the Dalongdong Baoan Temple, as well as the Confucius Temple and don't miss Taiwan's landmark - the Taipei 101!
