Seabourn Revamps Its 2028–2029 Expedition Program
The ultra-luxury cruise operator is proud to present the second edition of its Pole-to-Pole Grand Expedition.
The two expedition ships, Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit, will operate in the northern and southern polar regions as part of the anniversary program. Planned itineraries include voyages to Svalbard, Greenland, Iceland, and Canada; to Antarctica, including South Georgia and the Falkland Islands; as well as to the Chilean fjords and remote areas of the Atlantic. New or returning destinations include Ellesmere Island, Tristan da Cunha, and the Faroe Islands. The “Grand Expedition: Pole to Pole” connects the northernmost and southernmost regions of the Earth via a continuous route of more than 20,500 nautical miles. The voyage commences on August 18, 2028, in Reykjavík and concludes in Ushuaia, transiting through 14 countries and territories, and is offered in both a 96-day full itinerary and an 82-day abbreviated option. The schedule features, among other highlights, five days in Antarctica and three days each in South Georgia and the Falkland Islands.
Between April and September 2028, the spotlight turns to an expanded Arctic programme, during which both expedition ships will be deployed simultaneously in this region for the first time. The schedule is tailored to maximise long daylight hours and optimal ice conditions, and it introduces fresh routes such as Iceland and the Faroe Islands (12 days), Greenland to Newfoundland (18 days), the Torngat Mountains and Labrador, as well as Baffin Island, Ellesmere Island, and Svalbard.
From October 2028 through March 2029, the ultra-luxury line will then focus on the Southern Hemisphere, with voyages ranging from 10 to 25 days to the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia, the Falkland Islands, and the Chilean Fjords. Plans encompass extended stays in South Georgia, multi-day shore excursions (weather permitting), an enhanced emphasis on photography and wildlife observation, and a new itinerary via the Juan Fernández Islands. Throughout the season, guests may witness the Antarctic spring’s penguin courtship rituals and the heightened whale activity of the late southern summer.
Seabourn is presenting its anniversary programme as a strategic expansion of its expedition portfolio, distinguished by greater diversity, more in-depth route planning and an extensive array of excursions. The line is part of Carnival Corporation.
