Rituals equips Meliá Hotels with wellness products

Meliá Hotels & Resorts has commissioned the lifestyle brand Rituals to fit out its products in its hotels in Spain and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Inspired by the wisdom and ancient traditions of Asian culture, Rituals offers an extensive and versatile collection of luxurious products for body and home.

Rituals has developed an exclusive range of bath products for Meliá Hotels & Resorts based on The Ritual of Dao. The bespoke line includes shampoo, conditioner, hand wash and shower gel as well as hand and body lotion. The Ritual of Dao is an ancient Chinese philosophy that focuses on creating a balance between yin and yang. The collection has been created using soothing ingredients such as White Lotus - a symbol of purity and spiritual growth in the Far East - and Yi Yi Ren, which originates from China where it has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine for its nourishing and medicinal properties.

Meliá Hotels & Resorts has selected Rituals for the collaboration
because of their leading and innovative commitment to sustainability, which focuses on three pillars: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Rituals is aiming for 100% recyclable packaging by 2023 and offers eco-friendly refills for body creams, day and night creams, hand washes and fragrance sticks. Rituals uses recycled paper or FSC-certified paper for the secondary packaging of its products. All wood used for product packaging is PEFC certified and comes from sustainably managed forests in Europe. Meliá Hotels International (MHI) has been recognized by the Carbon Disclosure Project Index as one of the world's leading companies in the fight against climate change, following the hotel group's exemplary work to reduce its impact on the planet. By 2020, the company aims to reduce water consumption per stay by 8 percent and achieve 70 percent of total energy consumption through green electricity. The company is aiming for sustainability certification for 52 percent of its hotels and is standardizing sustainability clauses and codes in agreements with its suppliers. It is also ensuring that 90 percent of suppliers are local and reducing CO2 emissions by 18.4 percent per stay.

Meliá Hotels & Resorts is committed to the health and well-being of its guests
and ensures that guests' stay at each of its properties takes into account aspects of their well-being. The brand offers state-of-the-art fitness facilities, happy showers that provide users with vitamin C, vegan and vegetarian dietary options and in-room exercise equipment. Neil Ebbutt, Rituals Director Travel Retail, comments: "Signing this partnership with a hotel brand as well-known and respected as Meliá Hotels & Resorts underlines our commitment to continually improve our offering.
