Rice Up! Asian Fusion

Brainfood for those hungry for knowledge at ETH Zurich, Hönggerberg

Rice Up! has been open in the ETH Zurich HIT building on the Hönggerberg since April 3, 2018. This is the first time that ETH Zurich's food offering has been supplemented with a public restaurant. The concept is based on healthy, fresh Asian fusion cuisine and has already proved very successful in Bern and Zurich. The focus is on bowls made from sustainable materials, which are put together according to the motto "Mix it your way!". The offer at ETH Zurich is not only available to students, lecturers and employees, but also to external visitors.



After the Take Out Store at Bern railroad station

and the pop-up restaurant on Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse are already delighting a large number of guests, the offer is now also coming to ETH Zurich. It's fast, fresh and cheerful here. Each guest is accompanied individually through the food station by a member of staff. They choose what ends up in their bowl themselves: True to the brand name, the base is the all-rounder rice in different variations, complemented by crunchy leaf lettuce. Meat or tofu, vegetables, sauce and toppings are added to the base as desired. Cool drinks such as homemade lemonades or coconut water and selected desserts are available at the checkout. Fresh lunch in the best possible time, saving students and lecturers important study and recovery time. An extra bonus is the composition of the dishes, which focuses on important ingredients of a balanced diet.



The Swiss catering group Two Spice

focuses on sustainability with Rice Up!: the bowls are made from sugar cane fibers, a waste product from sugar production, and are 100% biodegradable. The lids and cutlery are also made from the biodegradable material PLA (the base material is corn and sugar starch), and the napkins are made from recycled paper. As well as being environmentally friendly, the bowls are also ideal for taking away - whether to the terrace, to the study or at home. Light enjoyment, served quickly and with a sustainable conscience - ideal for ETH Zurich, which itself is very strongly committed to sustainable development.
