Reinhold Messner

The life of the legendary extreme mountaineer Reinhold Messner as a comic book

Reinhold Messner is a living legend. He climbed his first summit at the tender age of five. At the age of 20, he and his younger brother Günther were among Europe's best climbers. His first ascent of Nanga Parbat in 1970 was a tragic success. He and his brother reached the summit, but Günther had an accident on the way back. Reinhold was never able to find his body. But Messner followed his passion and broke records again in 1978 when he climbed Mount Everest with Peter Habeler without bottled oxygen. By the age of 42, he had climbed all 14 of the world's eight-thousanders without bottled oxygen. With this type of mountaineering, he follows his clear philosophy of respecting nature. Michele Petrucci traces the highs and lows in the life of the legendary extreme mountaineer in his narrative and with his fine watercolor drawings.

The book will be published on March 15, 2018.
