The trend has been recognizable for years, and the pandemic has given it another significant boost: Health and well-being as a travel motive. People want to relax, but also get healthy or stay healthy. The range of regenerative measures on offer is becoming ever broader, but the quality of treatments and the variety of therapy options with medical supervision is also increasing.
Which type of relaxation or regenerative medicine and health concepts are best suited to whom can vary depending on the current (stress) situation, health goals and triggers for imbalances. The abundance of high-class and often medically supervised health offers from different philosophies, which are often combined with each other, invites you to try out what is particularly good for you. We have taken a look at some of the concepts that are currently in high demand.
Ayurveda - the oldest healing science in the world
Ayurveda is a healing science that has been known for over 5,000 years and means "the knowledge of life". People are viewed as a unity of body, mind and soul. The aim of Ayurvedic teaching is to detoxify the body and activate the body's self-healing powers. It is based on the assumption that the solar system consists of the five basic elements
elements of fire, water, earth, air and space. The principles of the body's three life forces, the doshas Vata, Pitta and Kapha, have developed from this. Even at birth, the dominance of the individual power relations of the doshas shapes a person's physical form and also determines their personal disposition. Achieving this flowing balance and bringing it into harmony is an important part of Ayurvedic diagnosis and treatment. An Ayurvedic massage is not only relaxing, but also helps to restore physical balance, cleanses the body of toxins that accumulate in the tissues, reduces stress and stimulates the circulation. Medically supervised, the Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatment is said to help prevent stress, insomnia, inner restlessness, metabolic disorders, intolerances, digestive disorders, chronic headaches and various mood disorders.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)
It is based on the idea of the two opposing principles of yin and yang. While yin stands for coldness, calmness, passivity, receptivity and the inside, yang represents heat, activity, excitement, vitality and the outside. The body can also be divided into yin and yang zones. In their dynamic interplay, the two qualities maintain the life energy, the Qi. According to TCM, this flows through the human body in so-called meridians, which also connect the organs with each other. Health imbalances develop when the energy flow in the meridians and the natural balance between yin and yang are disturbed. A malfunction in the meridian system is analyzed using tongue and pulse diagnosis. Further TCM treatments such as acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping or Tuina massage are then derived from this and supplemented with movement exercises such as Tai Chi and Qigong. Chinese herbalism also plays a central role.

Healing from nature
Natural healing resources, which have a scientifically recognized healing effect, are always localized, the basic substance is not changed in its composition. This is particularly successful in spa medicine facilities. However, they can also be effective in preventative medicine, burnout prophylaxis or regeneration. The best-known healing resources are the healing climate tunnels, moor, carbonated healing water and thermal water.

To take a deep breath: oxygen therapy
Oxygen therapy IHHT (Intermittent Hypoxia-Hyperoxia Therapy) improves breathing performance, increases resilience and stimulates cell rejuvenation. It can promote health, youthfulness and immunity and acts like altitude training in the mountains, where the body adapts to the lower oxygen content in the air. This adaptation process has many positive effects on health and supports general fitness. Long-standing scientific findings on altitude training (IHHT) even earned a British and two American researchers the
researchers even won the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 2019.
