The Palais Wertheim on Schwarzenbergplatz

In a historic setting in Vienna's 1st district
directly on Schwarzenbergplatz is home to Vienna's new, exclusive location: the Palais Wertheim. Unique in its architecture, equipped to a high standard and versatile in its use of space, the renovated jewel has already become an event hotspot.


Right from the start, Palais Wertheim has set new trends
in the Viennese palace landscape and was realized together with the renowned team of architects Söhne & Partner, who are known for their innovative spatial concepts and avant-garde designs. The result: by upgrading the old building with new design elements, a modernized, historic architectural jewel was created with room heights of up to 6 meters and a breathtaking ceiling construction. "The idea behind Palais Wertheim was to create an alternative to the conventional palaces and event locations in Vienna. We have invested millions in this and, by creating new jobs, have also strengthened the business location. Our aim is to establish a new platform for top-class events in the fields of art, culture, lifestyle and business," says Shahin Nejad, Managing Director of Palais Wertheim.


The innovative spatial concept of the Palais Wertheim halls
offers Viennese chic and Berlin style: the modular event area of the Wertheim Hall (500 m²), the Grey Theater Hall (100 m²) and the Canova Hall (100 m²) provides the perfect location for every event. In total, five event areas cover more than 1,200 m². A reinforced concrete staircase leads guests to the rooms in the basement, which are up to six meters high. The original use as an archive contributed greatly to the design. As a result, a grid-like structure was created on the ceilings in the halls as an important recognition feature, which in part merges into the vertical in the main hall (Wertheim Hall). This exposed concrete mesh divides the entrance from the lounge area and also acts as a design element. The progressive design of the grid structures provides a contrast to the interior design. Curtains, upholstered seating and large mirrors characterize the interior.


In the short time since the opening
the new location has successfully hosted numerous events of all kinds: from congresses, exclusive corporate events and gala dinners to product presentations, press conferences, weddings and birthday parties. This wide variety of uses allows numerous design options in terms of event setting and schedule. A professional team with expertise and years of experience is on hand from the initial idea through to implementation. Thanks to the experienced catering partners, all culinary options are also available: from gala menus, opulent buffet variations to creative flying finger food, innovative cocktails or down-to-earth fare. The fully air-conditioned halls impress with their unique futuristic design components and the charm of days gone by. The technical equipment is also state-of-the-art with sound, lighting and video systems.
