Oona - genuine Swiss Alpine caviar

Oona caviar is the first and only Swiss caviar from sturgeons that have grown up in Swiss mountain spring water.

The Tropenhaus Frutigen
opened a new chapter in the history of Swiss delicacies in 2011: the finest caviar from Siberian sturgeon. With a great deal of passion, patience and care, something unique was created - "Genuine Swiss Alpine Caviar" from the Kandertal valley. In keeping with the philosophy of the production site, the Tropenhaus Frutigen, and based on the use of Lötschberg mountain spring water, the first Swiss caviar is natural, sustainable and produced by hand. The only Swiss caviar bears the specially selected and designed brand name "Oona" and is an ambassador for a new world of indulgence. Derived from Celtic, "Oona" means the unique, the extraordinary.

A noble product
deserves selected, exclusive packaging. The "Oona" caviar appears embedded in the "Ice Cube". The "Ice Cube" completes the cycle - in the beginning is the ice, melted into water it forms the habitat of the sturgeon and leads to the pearly caviar. Made of clear glass by hand in Switzerland, the cube symbolizes the purity of the product and incorporates the philosophy of sustainability in the material. Tropenhaus Frutigen rears two sturgeon species for caviar and fish fillet production and can therefore offer two different, high-quality caviar varieties. The Oona Caviar (limité, jeune, traditionnel) from Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii) and the Oona Osietra Carat from Russian sturgeon (Acipenser gueldenstadtii). The sturgeons are reared in the fish farm of the Tropenhaus Frutigen in the Kandertal and swim in pure, naturally warm mountain water. Optimum, state-of-the-art husbandry conditions and sustainability are the top priorities here. The exclusively manual processing takes place on site and guarantees a rapid process from fish to caviar tin.
