This five-star hotel in the Danish capital is situated in a central, prime location in the lively Christianshavn district. As is customary for the brand, the Copenhagen branch is also inspired by its surroundings. Located directly on the Knippelsbro Bridge, it is housed in a building well known to locals. It is the former headquarters of a shipbuilding company. It was designed in the late 1950s by architect Palle Suenson according to modernist principles. These clean forms and straight lines lend the building its style. At the same time, they pay homage to this architectural era and the city’s history, which is closely linked to shipbuilding. The Spanish interior design firm TBC handled the interior. Their signature style has also left its mark on the NH Collection Munich Bavaria, among other projects.

When guests enter the historic building, they experience their first “wow” moment right in the lobby. From the lounge area located here, they are greeted by a view of the bustling harbor and the rooftops of Copenhagen. A work of art by local artist Anna Bak, which evokes the building’s shipbuilding past, complements the ambiance. Nordic design dominates the 394 rooms and suites, the two restaurants, and the hotel bar. Danish craftsmanship is paired with high-quality materials such as wood, brass, and fabrics in warm tones. Add to that herringbone tiles, elegant furniture, and plenty of light—and the feel-good atmosphere in Scandi style is complete. A green roof, the use of seawater to cool the building, the use of eco-friendly materials, and intelligent control of lighting and indoor climate ensure that the hotel meets the sustainability standards of the NH Collection.

Speaking of standards: food lovers can enjoy a wonderful dining experience at the Tablafina restaurant. The menu features a combination of Spanish tapas and local ingredients. Wine recommendations are provided by the hotel’s own sommelier. The breakfast room is also a real treat. From here, you can enjoy an unobstructed view of the activity outside.
