A look into the future - 3D glasses

For a long time, the term 3D glasses was associated with the unattractive plastic frames you paid extra for at the movies, and 3D printing was seen as a futuristic vision like video telephony was in the 1990s. Now, however, the young eyewear label neubau eyewear has recognized the potential of the technology and developed a 3D printing process that sets new standards in eyewear production. This is because the 3D eyewear printing process created and applied at the company's headquarters in Linz enables extremely precise details and sustainable production with the usual high quality. Three assets of the label that have been delighting its urban, trend-savvy customers since its launch in 2016.

The glasses from the 3D printer
are actually no strangers, as they are part of the successful "The Wire" family made from lightweight stainless steel with an upgrade in the form of seven different 3D applications. These are characterized by very fine, engraving-like details and structures as well as classic to extravagant shapes, which would be difficult to produce using conventional manufacturing methods. This high-tech production process is particularly environmentally friendly, as there is virtually no surplus material, but also - not least because of the long printing time - more expensive than the injection molding process that is normally used. This is why Sarah, Manu, Erwin and Felix from the printer are even more exclusive than their neubau eyewear relatives.
