MASERATI LEVANTE
High-flyer with a lot of traction
The Maserati Levante occupies a special position in many respects, as it is not only the brand's first SUV, but also a successful model that has become a bestseller in the model range in just over a year. It is also the only SUV that drives like a Maserati and has the charisma of the traditional sports car brand. In order to meet these high standards even better in the future, the Levante will receive a wealth of new features for the 2018 model year with immediate effect. From now on, buyers of the Levante also have the option of further diversifying their vehicle with the GranLusso and GranSport versions. Since the top-of-the-range Quattroporte model offers the option of accentuating the two souls of the vehicle with two different equipment lines, customers have been making good use of this.
GranLusso and GranSport equipment lines
The elegant and luxurious Levante GranLusso version is already apparent on the outside with stainless steel roof rails, side sills in body color, black brake calipers and 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside, it welcomes the driver and passengers with a silk interior by Ermenegildo Zegna and open-pore Radica fine wood. The Harman Kardon sound system, twelve-way electrically adjustable comfort seats, electrically adjustable steering wheel and pedals, illuminated door strips, parking sensors, navigation system and the new soft-close doors also come as standard.
The Levante GranSport is particularly dynamic,
by taking up Maserati's great motorsport tradition. This can be seen in the twelve-way electrically adjustable sports seats, the sports steering wheel and the shift paddles on the steering column. The GranSport standard equipment also includes the electrically adjustable pedals in stainless steel, parking sensors and the navigation system. This equipment line also makes a strong appearance on the outside. It includes a radiator grille in Black Piano, body-colored side sills, red brake calipers, 20-inch alloy wheels and Seatta logos on the C-pillar with blue accents.
Power and perfection with the 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine
In addition to the two previously available engine versions Levante Diesel and Levante S (430 hp), Maserati is now adding the Levante to the range. The 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine produces 257 kW (350 hp) and provides a maximum torque of 500 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Equipped with direct fuel injection, the engine accelerates the SUV to 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds and gives it a top speed of 251 km/h. Like the other two drive variants, this version also comes with the intelligent Q4 all-wheel drive system and an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF as standard. The Levante is now available in Switzerland at a base price of CHF 83,300.
Electric Power Steering for even more precise steering behavior
Another new feature is that all model versions now have Electric Power Steering (EPS) instead of hydraulic steering. The advantages over the previous technology are better on-road and off-road handling, significantly more precise steering behavior, less weight and lower maintenance requirements. In addition, electronic steering enables a new generation of driver assistance systems. The Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) are available as an option and form the basis for Level II autonomous driving. To this end, all model versions of the Levante can be equipped with a range of assistance systems on request.
Active driving assistance systems for even greater safety
High Way Assist combines the benefits of the adaptive cruise control system and the lane departure warning system. The system brakes the Levante to a standstill if the traffic situation requires it. For safety reasons, the driver must keep their hands on the steering wheel. With Lane Keeping Assist, a camera behind the rear-view mirror monitors the road markings. If previously activated, the active lane departure warning system intervenes by correcting the steering. Traffic sign monitoring recognizes speed limits (permanent and temporary) and stretches of road where overtaking is prohibited. With Active Blind Spot Assist, a warning signal appears on the exterior mirrors if another vehicle is in the blind spot for the driver of the Maserati.
