Mahali Mzuri, Sir Richard Branson’s luxurious tented camp in Kenya’s famous Maasai Mara, reopened just in time for the great animal migrations in July and August following an extensive renovation.

The twelve elegant glamping suites now draw even more inspiration from local Maasai craftsmanship and also feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows for an unobstructed view of the diverse wildlife. Each tent features a king-size or single bed, a living area, a separate walk-in shower, and a freestanding bathtub with spectacular panoramic views.

The new design concept extends to the restaurant, the bar, and the infinity pool, which has been enhanced with comfortable cabanas. As with all resorts in Branson’s Virgin Limited Edition portfolio, sustainability is a top priority at the new/old Mahali Mzuri: It features its own solar farm, a rainwater harvesting system, and a large kitchen garden that supplies the chefs with homegrown organic fruits and vegetables.
