LediBelle - Appenzell Natural Cosmetics

With natural Q10 from goat whey and the energy of the Jakobsquelle spring

If whey-based cosmetics hadn't been around for centuries - just think of Cleopatra and her milk baths - they would have to be invented: The care is not only good for the skin, but also for nature. The seven products from Swiss natural cosmetics brand LediBelle contain the powerful active ingredients fresh goat whey and Jacob's spring water. Both raw materials that the Koch family has found on their doorstep for generations. Farmers from all over the region now come to the Kochs' farm early in the morning to deliver their goat's milk. The goat's milk comes only from Appenzell goats (own breed). It is a protected species (https://www.prospecierara.ch/de/tiere/appenzellerziege) and was threatened with extinction. Using whey as a classic by-product of the dairy industry is not only sustainable and conserves resources. LediBelle also safeguards the existence of a centuries-old cultural landscape and uses fresh whey rather than whey powder.

Whey cures at Jakobsbad - a former hot spot for the health-conscious
Goat whey is a real power cocktail for the skin, as it contains natural Q10 and lactic acid. It helps the skin to build up and renew cells and has an antioxidant effect. In the 18th and 19th centuries, goat whey cures were offered in the Jakobsbad in the home of LediBelle in Appenzell. Whey baths were en vogue. Many Europeans, especially the English, spent several weeks there, bathed in whey, drank it and were cured of stomach and skin diseases. The Jakobsbad, built in 1845, is now the headquarters of LediBelle. But farmers' wives have always used whey for their beauty. Even today, goat's milk brings in extra income for the farmers, but is not the focus of their income. That's why they would never think of using concentrated feed or performance-enhancing products. The "happy" goats graze in the hilly foothills of the Alps in places that are inaccessible to the cows and thus get to eat the best grasses, herbs and clovers.

"Holy" water from the Jakobsquelle spring
The goats are always drawn to the nearby Jakobsquelle spring to drink. This energy-rich water activates the ingredients in the LediBelle products. The water comes from the spring, which is located on the famous pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. The artesian spring was named after St. James. For centuries, people and animals have sought it out to draw positive energy and vitality from it. St. James' spring water also has very special properties for skin care: the valuable minerals sodium, calcium and magnesium regulate the moisture balance, protect the skin from inflammation and counteract wrinkles. The living water gives LediBelle's skincare products its vibrational pattern - allowing the ingredients to develop their optimum effect. High Bovis values testify to great vital energy. The frequency pattern activates the skin's regenerative powers. A look at the INCI list for cosmetics shows: Water is the number one ingredient, except for oils. The quality of the water is therefore crucial.

Who invented it?
Goat pioneer Albert Koch Albert Koch, the goat pioneer, is behind the idea. Growing up on the farm that has belonged to his family for generations, he experimented early on with cosmetic applications of goat whey. This is how LediBelle was born. The brand name not only contains the "beauty", the first part of the word "Ledi" refers to the milk processing equipment traditionally used by the dairyman. Together with the son of a friend, brand manager Maximilian Schnorr, the two distribute the products in the D-A-CH region and in Russia. In addition to distribution in owner-managed perfumeries and the online store, LediBelle is delighted to be present at Douglas Pro.
