KUHN RIKON

Kuhn Rikon takes over "Rheinfelder Keramik"

In mid-August, cookware manufacturer Kuhn Rikon is taking over the traditional "Rheinfelder Keramik" company, which is particularly well-known for its tableware with Carigiet motifs such as the Schellen-Ursli. The company, which was once founded by the Zahner family, has been successfully managed by the Kuster family for the last 40 years. Kuhn Rikon is taking on all employees, while retaining the site in Rheinfelden, the cooperation with Slovakia and production in Switzerland.

For health reasons, Bruno Küster had been planning
for around two years to place the company in new hands. The contracts with Kuhn Rikon were finally signed last week. "We are delighted that we have been able to acquire Rheinfelder Keramik. The brand has great potential and is one of the last manufacturers in Switzerland to maintain traditional ceramic craftsmanship," says Tobias Gerfin, CEO of Kuhn Rikon. For Bruno Kuster, Kuhn Rikon is "the best thing that could have happened to us to secure the future of the company." He will be available to the company as a consultant for another 18 months or so. While "Rheinfelder Keramik" has so far only produced for the domestic market, the new owner is planning to export to other countries. Tobias Gerfin is convinced: "This unique type of handicraft is not only well received in Switzerland."
