Well hidden, now discovered
Book recommendation from the editorial team: Switzerland's pristine mountain valleys - Marco Volken
"Behind the moon, on the left": this is how the tourist resort of St. Antönien advertises its remoteness, which has become even more of a hit during the pandemic. Ski tours instead of ski slopes, relaxation instead of apres ski and a family ski lift close to the village instead of groomed slopes, cable cars and revolving restaurants. This is what winter 2020/21 will look like, according to a recently published illustrated book with a title that is as intelligent as it is precious: "Urtümliche Bergtäler der Schweiz". The small, wide world of secret - and mysterious - corners and ends of the Alpine republic, most of which are easy to travel through and include a list of hikes and other experiences in the book's appendix, arrives on the gift table this year in such a practical and timely manner, as if the second wave had already been anticipated. A rustic reason to travel to Switzerland - where it is probably at its most beautiful, and also a real insider tip for all those who think they already know everything in their own country.
