Great wines for generations

The 224 members with a total of 340 hectares have made the Bolzano winery what it is today: a widely known institution in South Tyrol's wine industry.

The history of Kellerei Bozen
began in 1908, when winegrowers from the Gries district founded a winegrowers' cooperative. Decades later, this merged with the cooperative in the St. Magdalena district (this is where the legendary St. Magdalener wine comes from!). With the construction of the new Bolzano winery in the Moritzing district in 2015, the entire activity - from delivery to sales - was bundled in one location for the first time. In the wine country of South Tyrol, the growing areas in and around Bolzano are particularly appreciated: on the slopes at the foot of the Dolomites, at 200 to 1,000 meters above sea level, the grapes can develop their full potential.

The foundation of Kellerei Bozen
are the approximately 224 cooperative members: family-run farms that have been growing grapes for generations. They work their vineyards with dedication, passion and precision - always with the clear goal of achieving the best grape quality. Good wines are created in the vineyard, but the grape harvest and vinification also follow precise rules: The grapes are carefully selected, harvested and processed. Behind this are passionate winegrowers who pay attention to natural cultivation and sustainable management. They grow 15 grape varieties on a wide variety of soils, which are processed into different wines with local character. Lagrein and St. Magdalener are among the most popular wine varieties in the region. Dozens of national and international awards for the Bolzano winery demonstrate the success of the interplay between tradition and modernity and the close connection between the cooperative members and their region.
