Things also went well economically.
Under the management of Ralph Bucherer, blindekuh Basel was able to significantly increase turnover and profit compared to the budget and previous year. This was thanks to the event space Halle 7 and the "Sinneswandel" project at Badenfahrt 2017. 100,000 francs in total were set aside for the planned renovation of the event space Halle 7. blindekuh Zurich, headed by Adrian Schaffner, also increased its turnover and profit once again, closing the financial year 36,000 francs above budget. In addition, the blindekuh foundation was able to accept generous donations and use them to carry out all infrastructure renovations at both locations.
Balanced accounts and plans for anniversary year 2019
For 2018, blindenkuh expects to break even and aims to continue making ongoing improvements and optimizations to its operating processes. In Zurich, investments of around CHF 20,000 are planned for new equipment and infrastructure, while in Basel, the main focus is still on planning and fundraising for the renovation of Hall 7, which is scheduled for summer 2019. In 2019, the 20th anniversary of the blindenkuh will also be duly celebrated with events and activities. These are planned from July 2019. "Preparations are already in full swing this year," says Stephan Zappa.
