Dinner under the stars

3 vintage champagnes, 3 toques, 3 young stars, 30 guests

In keeping with the worthy occasion of presenting three new vintages of Dom Pérignon at the same time, the champagne house came up with something very special. An elite group of just 30 guests accepted the promising invitation and were chauffeured to a surprise dinner in an extraordinary atmosphere at a "still" secret venue. The curiosity among the invited connoisseurs and gourmets was correspondingly high.

A fleet of Bentley limousines with chauffeurs was on standby for the festively dressed guests. Where the journey would take them was still an eagerly awaited secret during the comfortable ride in padded leather seats.

Among the invited guests were Dominique Meyer, Director of the Vienna State Opera, Echo Klassik winner and violinist Yury Revich, dancer Manaho Shimokawa and soprano Aida Garifullina. The secret location turned out to be none other than the famous Klimt Villa in Vienna's 13th district.

The pompous ambience of the villa provided the perfect setting for an impressive menu sequence accompanied by 3 vintages of DOM PÉRIGNON champagne. For the first and only time, the roof terrace of the Klimt Villa was opened for a private event. DOM PÉRIGNON VINTAGE 2009, DOM PÉRIGNON P2 VINTAGE 2000 and DOM PÉRIGNON ROSÉ VINTAGE 2005 were served. Harald Irka was responsible for the culinary delights, creating culinary highlights especially for the occasion to match the three vintages. His idea was to create a menu consisting of several small dishes. A kind of informal tapas style, but sophisticated and very sophisticated! The 26-year-old from Linz is considered the whizz kid of Austrian gastronomy and is regarded by critics as one of the boldest and most promising award-winning chefs.

At the reception in the garden, DOM PÉRIGNON VINTAGE 2009, an experience of fruit and structure, was served as a welcome aperitif. In the glass, the champagne presented itself with a promising richness, exotic notes and incredible aromatic persistence. Afterwards, we went to the roof terrace for a seated dinner.

The DOM PÉRIGNON P2 VINTAGE 2000 champagne was served to enhance the star-studded culinary delights. This second plénitude of DOM PÉRIGNON, called P2, is the result of a 17-year process. The different, complementary elements of the blend take the wine to a new level of energy. The wine is intense, lively and fresh - it is now at its peak of energy.

After a private tour of what is now the museum and former studio of the artist, everything shone in red. For dessert, as the crowning glory and color-coordinated with DOM PÉRIGNON ROSÉ VINTAGE 2005, the park and garden were completely bathed in red. DOM PÉRIGNON Rosé is a tribute to the Pinot Noir grape with the sole aim of emphasizing its magic.

Further unique menu sequences according to the motto "Dinner under the stars" can be booked in advance at the Saziani Stub'n until the end of the year!
