CaviArt 2018 by Oona
5th Edition CaviArt 2018: The new caviar from Oona - the Osietra Carat - exclusively presented by art rocker Michaël Lucerne.
The launch of the caviar season at Tropenhaus Frutigen is taking place for the fifth year in a row in combination with art. The latest product from Oona will be presented - Osietra Carat from the Russian sturgeon.
The masterfully designed packaging
by Michaël Lucerne underlines the character of Osietra Carat with bold brushstrokes, emotionally charged colors and precisely placed precious metals. A revelation for the eye and palate.
With the CaviArt edition
opens the caviar season in a special setting for the fifth year in a row. Tropenhaus Frutigen is presenting a new caviar product: Osietra Carat. The exquisite caviar selection of Oona - the genuine Swiss Alpine caviar - offers three delicate caviars from Siberian sturgeon: Oona Caviar No. 101, No. 102 and No. 103. The Tropenhaus is also presenting Osietra Carat, the first Swiss caviar from Russian sturgeon (Acipenser gueldenstaedtii), for the season launch: "We are proud to enrich the world of delicacies with a new, very high-quality caviar variety," says a delighted Marcel Baillods, CEO of Tropenhaus Frutigen. With Osietra Carat, the purity of the caviar really comes into its own. With a maximum salt content of 3.5 percent, it is lightly salted and reveals a nutty, characterful aroma with a velvety grain and golden shimmer.
This is what art rocker Michaël Lucerne says about the 5th edition of CaviArt:
"My CaviArt creation is a symbiosis of the zeitgeist. The noble shimmer of the black gold of the Swiss Alps is reflected in my pitch-black brushstrokes. The "Madonna half-faces" combined with gold, silver and copper characterize the purity of the latest product from Oona." The artist describes the design of the special packaging. "In 2018, Michaël Lucerne was entrusted with the design of the 5th edition of CaviArt. His inspiration fits perfectly with our versatile yet authentic caviar delights," confirms Beate Makowsky, Head of Marketing and Communication at Tropenhaus Frutigen.
Passion and aesthetics are what
which are at the heart of the Swiss artist with French roots. With his powerful artistic work, he conveys paradisiacal states that awaken joyful associations in the viewer. Stressful everyday life becomes secondary, if only for a brief moment, allowing the emotional in people to blossom. Driven by beauty, his art goes beyond the edge of the canvas.
The Special Edition CaviArt
is being produced for the fifth year in a row. In 2014, PortenierRoth from Thun was entrusted with the design of the 1st Edition CaviArt. The cubic outer packaging reflected the design of the current knitwear collection and literally enveloped the caviar box embedded inside. The 2nd edition CaviArt followed in 2015, designed by Ted Scapa: his inspiration came from previous stays in Russia and Iran, where he had already come into contact with caviar. In 2016, the 3rd CaviArt edition was designed by paper-cutting artist Ernst Oppliger. With the 4th edition, Gregory Knie gave caviar a touch of circus magic, in keeping with the motto: "Ohlala and Oona".
Tropenhaus Frutigen in the Bernese Oberland is the first Swiss breeding facility for Siberian and Russian sturgeon and produces the only Swiss caviar under the name Oona - Genuine Swiss Alpine Caviar. The basis for this is the clear, natural 18°C mountain water of the Lötschberg massif, which flows out on the north side at a rate of around 70 liters per second. The water contributes to the purity and expressive taste of the caviar, which is unique in the world. With 50,000 sturgeons, the aim is to produce around 3 tons of fish fillet and 1.1 tons of caviar per year. Preservatives and artificial flavorings are consistently avoided. Instead, Swiss salt, in-house products such as chili and regional products such as Swiss whisky are used.
