The AURA Bar & Smokers Lounge on Paradeplatz is considered one of the most beautiful bars in the city of Zurich. But five years after opening, Philippe Haussener, owner and CEO of the AURA Group, thought it was time to give the bar a new look. Wanderlust keeps getting the better of him. And he loves to travel and find inspiration in the world's major cities. "I was in the mood for something new." An elegant library in the style of a gentleman's club, in which guests can imagine themselves in a historical film and wanderlust sufferers can dream of adventures in distant worlds. The decorative items have been carefully selected and chosen accordingly. One imagines Phileas Fogg recounting his adventures as told by Jules Verne in his novel "Around the World in 80 Days". The new look of the AURA Bar & Smokers Lounge is as unique in the city as it is inspiring, says Philippe Haussener with satisfaction.


New cocktail menu with cocktail creations by Bruno Goncalves
The new cocktail menu also fits into the created world of distant travel and adventure. The "Aura Mule" references the "Moscow Mule" from Lucius Beeb's "The Stork Club Bar Book" from 1946, while the "Lady Fintch" - a cocktail made from white rum, homemade passion fruit syrup, fresh basil and lime juice - tells the story of Lady Charlotte Finch, the legendary governess of the British King George III. The creative mind behind the bar at the AURA Bar & Smokers Lounge has been bartender Bruno Goncalves for three years. He travels the world for two months every summer and this year he has brought his ideas for new cocktails from Mexico, Singapore, Portugal and Sweden and packed them into stories. The special thing about the creations are the syrups that Bruno Goncalves makes himself. They give the drinks that unmistakable something.
