Atlantic Rally for Cruisers

Gone with the wind: Gran Canaria to St. Lucia

For over 30 years, the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) has been crossing the Atlantic with more than 200 yachts from over 25 countries: from the island capital of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Rodey Bay (island of St. Lucia) in the Caribbean. Every year on the third Sunday in November - this year on 24.11.2019 - the elegant sails glide out onto the open sea. The start - around noon - is an impressive celebration where locals and tourists gather on the Las Palmas seafront to see off the regatta.

The ARC is a must for many sailors and attracts over 200 boats and 1200 people every year to cover the 2700 nautical miles across the Atlantic from Gran Canaria to St. Lucia by sea. The beauty of it is that the ARC is for everyone; families with children, tough racers, cruising couples, big boats and the smaller ones. The motto is: cross the Atlantic together, but experience your own personal adventure. The ARC is more than just a boat race, it's about friendships made in the two weeks before setting off on land, a shared passion and a great adventure.
