Amuse Bouche: Apprentice initiative of the top hotel industry

The Amuse Bouche apprentice initiative honors the best apprentices in Vienna's top hotel industry.

Apprenticeships in the hospitality and hotel industry are still a very good basis for a future career. Nevertheless, the image of tourism apprenticeships has fallen dramatically. In many areas of the Austrian catering and hotel industry, there is a lack of qualified young Austrian professionals. The situation must - without exaggeration - be described as alarming.

This is why Amouse Bouche was created: This extraordinary initiative serves to promote young professionals in tourism. Amuse Bouche was conceived and developed by initiator Piroska Payer in close cooperation with representatives of Vienna's top hotels and top gastronomy.

The declared aim of the initiative is to counteract this trend and contribute to building up the image of professions in tourism. The focus is on actively motivating and sustainably promoting young people; the organization of media-effective events helps to positively strengthen the image of apprenticeships in tourism.


The next round starts on June 24:
The top apprentices from top hotels such as Hotel Bristol Vienna, Grand Ferdinand, Grand Hotel Wien, Hilton Vienna, Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront, Hotel Imperial Vienna, Meliá Vienna, Steigenberger Hotels and Hotel Sacher will be taking part.

June 24, 2019: Kick-off event

Imperial Riding School Renaissance Vienna Hotel, 1030 Vienna, Ungargasse 60
Managers / mentors / colleagues / guests: 6.30 pm - approx. 9.00 pm


August 27, 2019: Preliminary round

Tourism school HLTW13, 1130 Vienna, Bergheidengasse 5
between 08.00 - ~ 16.00 o'clock


End of Aug. / beginning of Sept. 2019: Finalist announcement (date TBA)
