Jaguar I-PACE

2000-kilometer road trip with the all-electric Jaguar I-PACE

From Berlin via the Nürburgring to Graz

Following the conclusion of the electric motorsport season, Jaguar took the new, all-electric I-PACE, which now allows three-phase charging, on a 2000-kilometer road trip - an exciting journey in the footsteps of its development.

Jenny Becks, Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY and Formula E presenter, made her way to the Austrian plant in Graz. She made her first stop with the new I-PACE at the Jaguar Land Rover Test Center at the Nürburgring. The next stop took them to Kirchhundem in the Sauerland region, the company headquarters of Mennekes. Founded in 1935, the company is the inventor of the Type 2 charging plug, which is now the EU standard, and specializes in intelligent eMobility charging solutions.

From there, we crossed the state border to Hesse, more precisely to Allendorf an der Eder, to Viessmann's company headquarters. The globally active family business is not only the official partner of the Panasonic Jaguar Racing team in the ABB FIA Formula E, but also specializes in the largely self-sufficient and completely emission-free charging of the Jaguar I-PACE at home. Thanks to photovoltaics, "green" electricity is generated, refueled, stored and - in the event of overproduction - fed into the public grid for a fee.

Before arriving at Magna Steyr in Graz, the production site of the Jaguar I-PACE, there was an appointment in Munich, where the local mtz - Münchner Taxi Zentrum has been operating ten I-PACEs in hard cab use since 2018. Jenny Becks also met an avowed I-PACE fan in the Bavarian capital: brand ambassador and actor Kostja Ullmann.
