Discover Qatar, one of the most exciting new destinations in the world!
Dynamic and modern, yet deeply rooted in its traditions
- Qatar combines exquisite hospitality with cosmopolitan splendor, a kaleidoscope of rich cultural impressions, new experiences and thrilling adventures.
Hospitality has always been a cornerstone of Qatari culture.
Look forward to a warm welcome. The hotels in Qatar are modern and luxurious. They impress with outstanding service as well as excellent restaurants, pools, spas and fitness rooms. As the Gulf region's leading arts and culture hub, Qatar offers world-class museums, exhibitions, concerts, theaters and public art installations.
Doha is a cosmopolitan, modern capital
with typical Arabian flair. The capital of Qatar offers a variety of first-class shopping, dining and entertainment options. Surrounded by the crystal-clear waters of the Arabian Gulf, Qatar invites you to explore its diverse scenic attractions such as majestic sand dunes, pristine beaches, mangrove lagoons and wind-sculpted limestone formations. Whether it's desert safaris in an off-road vehicle, cruises on a traditional wooden Arabian dhow or a visit to the camel races - unforgettable experiences await in Qatar.
Admire some of the finest works of art
and artifacts from over 1,400 years of history in the Islamic world. If you want to experience the hustle and bustle of the streets, traditional trade and local architecture as authentically as possible, stroll through the bustling alleyways of Souq Waqif with its maze of stores and restaurants. The cultural village of Katara in Doha, with its impressive theaters and art stages, public beach with water sports facilities and countless cafés and restaurants, is the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing day of culture and entertainment with the whole family.
One of Qatar's unique natural wonders
is undoubtedly the Inland Sea (Chaur al-Udaid), where the waters of the Gulf penetrate deep into the desert. The Pearl-Qatar is an upmarket development on an artificial island with a fine marina and elegant promenades lined with restaurants, cafés and international brand boutiques. The restored 18th-century Al Zubarah Fort and an archaeological site where the ruins of a well-preserved walled city are being uncovered. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is an "exceptional testimony to the tradition of trade and pearl diving in the larger coastal towns of the region".

Already last year
the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), Qatar Airways and the country's Ministry of Interior also announced that Qatar would allow visa-free entry for citizens from a total of 80 countries with immediate effect. Instead of applying for a visa, they will receive a free permit ("visa waiver") upon entry. The prerequisite is the presentation of a passport with a minimum validity of six months and a confirmed return flight ticket.
For citizens from 33 countries
mainly from Europe - including Germany, Austria and Switzerland - the new free visa is valid for 180 days. It allows visitors to stay in Qatar for up to 90 days at a time or to enter and leave the country several times. Citizens of the other 47 countries, including the USA, Great Britain and Japan, receive a free visa for 30 days, which they can extend.
