Conrad Hamburg officially opens with exclusive gala at Levantehaus

Appearance with charisma

The Conrad Hamburg celebrated its official opening with a festive gala - opening a new chapter in Hamburg's hotel landscape. Around 500 invited guests were present as the historic Levantehaus in the heart of the Hanseatic city was transformed into the stage for Hamburg's new luxury hotel.

The evening was hosted by Christian Stübinger, while the culinary opening in the hotel's own restaurant, GRETA OTO, was marked by chef Tilo Sachadä. His modern Latin American cuisine impressed with its creativity and sophistication.

Among the guests were celebrities such as Nova Meierhenrich, André Schünke, Natalia Yegorova, Marion Fedder and Boris Entrup. Also leading representatives of the Hamburg hotel industry such as Ingo Peters (Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten), Thies Sponholz (The Fontenay), Tashi Takang (Grand Elysée) and David Etmenan (Novum Hospitality) showed their appreciation for the new hotel.

Dr. Jörg Frehse , CEO of MHP Hotel AG, which operates the hotel, said: "The opening of the Conrad Hamburg is a special moment for us. We are proud to have completed this challenging project on time. The entire team has done an exceptional job to create a place that combines Hamburg's Hanseatic tradition with international elegance and contemporary art."

Dan Wakeling , VP Development, Luxury & Residential - Europe & Africa at Hilton, also emphasized the strategic importance of the opening: "We are proud to be able to open Germany's first Conrad Hotel here in Hamburg - in the vibrant Hanseatic city and in the historic Levantehaus. Hamburg was the ideal choice for us: the city combines maritime tradition with cosmopolitan flair and offers both business travelers and guests a unique blend of culture, business and quality of life. With this hotel, we are realizing a long-held vision of Hilton."

Gordon Debus , General Manager of the Conrad Hamburg, added: "It was a pleasure to inaugurate the Conrad Hamburg together with so many guests. My team and I are looking forward to offering travelers from all over the world and the people of Hamburg unforgettable experiences at our hotel in the future."

Architecture, design and history - in harmony

The Levantehaus, a masterpiece by architect Franz Bach from 1912, is one of the most modern office buildings of its time. With its listed façade by Carl Gustav Bensel, artfully tiled walls, magnificent mosaics and the famous animal frieze by Barry Baldwin, the building offers a unique setting for a hotel of this category.

For the reopening, the building was redesigned with great sensitivity by the renowned London design studio 1508 London. Historic Art Nouveau elements were painstakingly restored and combined with timeless elegance: custom-made chandeliers, antique mirrors, French vanilla stone and fine textiles create a stylish symbiosis of Hanseatic restraint and international flair.
