Vista takes over Air Hamburg

The private aviation group Vista is taking over the charter provider Air Hamburg, increasing its fleet to 240 aircraft. In addition to the operating platform, Vista is also integrating Air Hamburg's maintenance services at Baden Baden Airpark as well as the executive handling department and the VIP lounge at Hamburg Airport. As a result of the takeover, Vista will increase the number of flight hours worldwide by 30 percent and achieve a 15 percent share of the global charter market, the company explains. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2022.

"The announcement brings a renowned institution in the European private aviation market into the Vista Group and complements our growth and service offering across Europe and the Middle East," explains Vista founder and Chairman Thomas Flohr. For Air Hamburg, the acquisition is an "opportunity to remain at the forefront of the growing business aviation market", says CEO and Managing Director Floris Helmers. Over the past three years, the company has experienced strong growth and significantly increased its market share in Europe and beyond. The cooperation with Vista ensures stability and further growth, says the manager.

Vista is a subsidiary of Vista Global Holding in Dubai Vista. It arranges flights operated by third-party airlines or partner companies of the Group. The holding company holds non-controlling minority interests in Xojet Aviation, GMJ Air Shuttle, Red Wing Aviation and Talon Air. The Hamburg-based Air Hamburg Group claims to be the largest provider of private jets in Europe in terms of the number of flights. It flies to more than 1,000 destinations in Europe alone. In 2021, it organized over 18,800 flights and, in terms of flight hours, it is in second place behind Vista with 35,000. The Air Hamburg Private Jets fleet consists of 44 jets of the types Lineage 1000E, Falcon 7X, Legacy 600/650/650E, Legacy 500, Praetor 600, Cessna Citation XLS+, Phenom 300/300E and Cessna Citation CJ3.
