The Coco Collection appoints Maurice Van Den Bosch as General Manager

Maurice Van Den Bosch is no stranger to the job. He already has over 20 years of experience in hotel management. The Australian-Dutch manager has already made a name for himself in a wide variety of positions. His most recent role was as head of the pre-opening team at Le Meridian Maldives Resort & Spa. He landed in the Indian Ocean in 2017 as Resort Manager of Atmosphere Kanifushi, before becoming Vice President of Operations for Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts in 2019. After some time in his native Australia, where Van Den Bosch worked in food & beverage management and event management at several hotels, among other things, the tourism professional is now back in the Maldives. Here he is in charge of the Coco Bodu Hithi.


Innovations and projects

In addition to planning the program for the Christmas holidays and New Year, other new projects and initiatives are underway. "A new restaurant concept and a new children's club are already being planned, which will add to the long list of existing offers on the island," says Maurice Van Den Bosch. Ever since it was founded in 2005, the Coco Collection has placed particular emphasis on style, tradition and atmosphere. The latest plans will not change this. "Both will have a very natural, relaxed atmosphere. We are planning a beachfront dining experience with a traditional Maldivian menu where guests can relax and enjoy a refreshing drink while gazing out over the horizon and enjoying the colorful splendor that only the Maldives can offer," reveals the new General Manager.

Improving the guest experience and streamlining resort operations in these difficult times are also important to Van Den Bosch. The manager believes in teamwork: "When it comes to management, I truly believe in the idea of 'all for one and one for all'. The success of the resort can only be achieved through the success of the team that runs it. For me, there is nothing better than having a team that is able to provide the best service and challenge themselves to new heights."

Van den Bosch is delighted to be back in the Maldives. The expert feels that the Coco Collection is a very interesting brand with a fabulous reputation as a pioneer in the resort industry, with strong Maldivian roots and the ability to adapt at the same time. "The Collection's resorts are not only beautiful, but also offer a lot. Coco Bodu Hithi - my new home - has large, elegant villas surrounded by lush vegetation and beautiful beaches. A true natural paradise," enthuses Van den Bosch.
