Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai: New design temple for Downtown Dubai

New addition to the iconic Wasl Tower

The Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai is the second hotel of the Hong Kong luxury hotel group to open in the Gulf metropolis at the beginning of November. Housed in the iconic Wasl Tower - one of the city's new architectural landmarks - the MO Downtown sees itself as a "vertical boulevard of hospitality" - and as a place where Asian elegance meets the energy of the emirate. The 259 rooms and suites, designed and furnished by the London-based G.A Group, combine warm natural tones with panoramic views over the skyline or the Gulf and present themselves as retreats floating high above the city. However, the four culinary outlets that are currently still open are also truly heavenly. While Yù & Mì is reminiscent of Hong Kong in the 1960s in terms of both taste and style, Chitarra stands for traditional Italian cucina. There is also Noia by the Pool on the eleventh floor, which shines with plenty of Greek flair.

Other international concepts, including those by Yannick Alléno and the Billionaire Group, are due to open soon.
