Jumeirah Olhahali Island: A New Chapter Begins with a Festive Program

Jumeirah Olhahali Island in the Maldives is undergoing a phased renovation—villas and residences, dining, spa, and family-friendly amenities.

Operations will continue as usual throughout the renovation, which is scheduled to be completed in December 2026. The “Tides of Celebration” festival program offers travel partners a concrete opportunity to introduce customers to this new chapter in the resort’s history.

To begin at the outset, the resort is situated on a secluded, pristine island in the Maldives and is currently undergoing a comprehensive transformation in several phases. The project encompasses the villas and residences, the dining concepts, the wellness facilities, and the family offerings. The resort will remain fully operational throughout the renovation; the transformation is scheduled for completion in December 2026.

The focus is on a contemporary interpretation of island living, defined by spaciousness, open-air elegance, and attentive hospitality. The 67 beach and overwater villas and residences will offer flexible living areas that flow seamlessly outdoors, private infinity pools, and rooftop terraces. Among the first categories unveiled are the One-Bedroom Ocean, Lagoon, and Grand Lagoon Villas, as well as the Two-Bedroom Water Residences, which are designed with families and shared stays in mind, featuring spacious living and dining areas. Warm, neutral interiors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and artisanal details inspired by Maldivian culture further anchor the villas in their local context. Sunken lounges and rooftop terraces provide space for dinner, open-air cinema, and evenings under the starry sky.

The renovation extends beyond the villas. Two new restaurants—Alaaya Bay and Casa Lucia—are being added, complementing the revamped concepts of The Palmery, Umi Kei, and Ember Lounge. The existing Kids Club will be completely renovated, expanded, and will be known as Jumeirah Circle. The Talise Spa, situated over the water, is also being renovated and will feature six treatment villas.
