January: Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden

Dresden's majestic living room

Under the motto "History retold", the Taschenbergpalais is bringing its historical heritage back to life after extensive renovation and has been shining again in the heart of Dresden's old town since February 2024. Once built as a sign of Elector Augustus the Strong's love for Countess Cosel, the hotel became the first five-star hotel in the Free State of Saxony in 1995. Since then, the Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden has become an integral part of the national and international hotel landscape.

The building, which was the first hotel in Europe to be awarded the AFBA seal, has 180 rooms and 31 suites. Under the aegis of interior designer Markus Hilzinger, hand-picked furniture and selected works of art give each room an individual touch, creating an exclusive yet cozy atmosphere. Here, as well as in the color design, historical elements were integrated and placed in a new context. The highlight of the hotel is the 380 sqm Royal Suite, which was created by combining the King and Queen Suite. It includes two spacious living areas, two generous dining rooms with adjoining kitchens and two private wellness areas. It has already hosted a large number of leading personalities from all over the world.

Massages, beauty treatments and yoga classes can be booked on request in the exclusive spa area on the top floor of the house. The spacious pool is also open daily. The sauna area with steam bath and infrared cabin complete the soothing wellness offer above the rooftops of the city.

Guests are greeted by impressive culinary delights as soon as they enter the lobby in the form of the AMALIE Pâtisserie & Lounge. The finest ingredients are carefully selected and brought together in the hotel to create pastries and chocolates. The in-house restaurant Das Palais, whose menu can also be enjoyed outside on the sunny terrace in the middle of historic buildings during the summer months, offers a varied menu. Together with his team, head chef Marcel Spahn focuses on surprising culinary concepts that he combines with unusual flavors. Just like the AMALIE, the restaurant welcomes hotel guests and visitors alike. The gastronomic offering is complemented by the Kastenmeiers fish restaurant, which serves lobster and oysters. The Bar 1705, which was crowned Hotel Bar of the Year by Falstaff, offers a menu with 16 signature drinks that perfectly underline the concept of the Classic American Bar. From October to February, guests can also take a seat in the cozy alpine hut in the hotel's inner courtyard. Fine cheese, meat and champagne fondues in combination with the rustic furnishings of the Almhütte create an alpine flair in the middle of Dresden. Exclusive events can be held in all of the hotel's culinary facilities on request.

In addition to all its amenities, the Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden is the ideal starting point for relaxing walks along Dresden's baroque sights. The romantic landscape of Saxon Switzerland or a visit to traditional manufactories such as the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory in the city's environs are perfect for day trips. All in all, the "Taschenbergpalais" is an attractive year-round destination that offers countless possibilities in combination with the highest levels of comfort and luxury.
