ITB Berlin
Deborah Rothe succeeds David Ruetz as Exhibition Director
Deborah Rothe has succeeded David Ruetz as Exhibition Director of ITB Berlin. The 31-year-old will take over the project management of the world's leading travel trade show, which will take place live in the capital from March 7 to 9, 2023 as a pure B2B event.
Rothe has been with Messe Berlin since 2011 and has worked for ITB Berlin since 2014. From August 2019, as Head of Business Development & Sales, she was primarily responsible for the further development of ITB Berlin and for sales of the exhibitor and visitor business. She was also instrumental in driving the development of the B2B networking event series "TRVLX by ITB" in European markets, which will continue to be an integral part of the ITB portfolio in the future.
David Ruetz (54) took over as Senior Vice President for Travel + Logistics at Messe Berlin in December. In addition to the ILA Berlin Airshow, he will continue to oversee ITB's global brand family and its strategic development. Over the past 20 years as Head of ITB Berlin, he has been largely responsible for the global brand expansion of ITB and thus for the establishment of ITB Asia in Singapore and ITB China in Shanghai. He also supported the development of ITB India, which, after two digital editions, will take place for the first time as a face-to-face event in Mumbai in 2023 and is intended to further strengthen ITB's position as a global marketplace for the travel industry.
