Hyatt on course for expansion: 20 hotel openings by 2028

With new hotel hotspots in Croatia and Albania!

       

Over the next three years, Hyatt Hotel Corporation plans to open 20 new properties in vacation destinations such as Spain, Greece, Italy, Croatia and Portugal . In addition, 400 new additions are expanding the portfolio of Mr & Mrs Smith hotels to more than 1,000. These properties, including over 170 hotels in Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Portugal and Morocco, are part of the World of Hyatt loyalty program.

Since 2017, Hyatt has quadrupled its portfolio in European and African destinations such as Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Egypt and Morocco. The 20 new hotels are to be added in these and other destinations, including Albania and Croatia . The expansion represents a 20 percent increase in Hyatt's brand presence in these regions and adds more than 4,000 additional rooms to the portfolio. Among the planned new openings are hotels on the island of Paros, in the Algarve, in Seville and Zadar as well as in Palase on the Albanian Riviera.

The Sarena de Muro, Destination by Hyatt on Playa de Muro in Mallorca and the Alua Soul Sunny Beach Resort in Burgas, Bulgaria are set to welcome their first guests this year. At the Kampos Hotel, Destination by Hyatt, guests can expect an authentic, culturally immersive experience on the Greek island of Paros from 2026. Other openings include the Hyatt Regency Zadar in Croatia, Hyatt Centric Reims in France, Hyatt Regency Rome Central in Italy, Andaz Lisbon in Portugal, Thompson Seville in Spain and Hyatt Regency Palase Resort & Spa in Albania.

More than 1,000 hotels in the Mr & Mrs Smith portfolio

The booking platform Mr & Mrs Smith , which has been part of Hyatt since 2023, offers direct access to a carefully curated selection of boutique and luxury hotels. The portfolio now includes over 1,000 hotels where the 54 million members of the loyalty program can earn and redeem points when booking through Hyatt. Over the past two years, participating Mr & Mrs Smith hotels have added dozens of destinations to the World of Hyatt program, including Cyprus, Croatia, Mauritius and the Virgin Islands. 170 of the 400 hotels newly added to the Hyatt loyalty program are located in Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Portugal and Morocco.
