Hotel Park Hyatt Vienna
Change of leadership after ten years
On April 1, 2023, Monique Dekker will hand over the General Management of the Hotel Park Hyatt Vienna to Barbara Göttling and become Senior Vice President Human Resources EAME of Hyatt Hotels Corporation in Zurich. Born in the Netherlands, Dekker has led the hotel through the final construction phase as General Manager since 2013, opening it a year later as the first Hyatt hotel in Austria. Together with her team, she has established the Park Hyatt Vienna as the flagship of the Hyatt hotel group and placed it in the top rankings of the national top hotel industry. After more than 25 years with Hyatt in the USA, Asia, Germany and as Area Vice President for Austria, Italy, Hungary and the Czech Republic, Dekker is opening a new chapter and will be increasingly responsible for strategic HR development issues from Zurich. Dekker has already been increasingly committed to inclusion, fairness and diversity in recent years, particularly as Chair of the Women@Hyatt DBRG EAME initiative and member of the GDEIC (Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council).
Barbara Göttling has also been part of the team since the pre-opening phase of the elegant Viennese luxury hotel. "Together, we have gone through ten years of both successful and challenging times, laughing, celebrating, tinkering with new ideas and overcoming many hurdles. I am very grateful that Monique Dekker has supported me and given me the freedom and opportunity to develop into my new position through constantly growing areas of responsibility," explains the new General Manager. She was born in Vienna and started her career in 2002. Since June 2021, she has been responsible for the operational management of the Park Hyatt Vienna as hotel manager, with around 220 employees, 143 rooms and suites as well as four catering facilities, a wellness area and nine event rooms.
