Management change at Steigenberger Hotels AG

This news really hit home: at the beginning of the month, two well-known industry veterans came on board at Steigenberger Hotels AG. With 17 years of experience as Chairman of the Executive Board of Fraport AG, Professor Wilhelm Bender was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The second exciting new appointment as CEO at Steigenberger is Oliver Bonke, who has 30 years of experience in the international hospitality industry and most recently held the same position at the Shangri-La Group. André Witschi and Marcus Bernhardt are thus leaving Steigenberger Hotels AG. The change is intended to mark a successful new start after a challenging market break, which will exploit the full potential of the German hospitality brands.

We will benefit greatly from his experience with complex transformation processes as we strive for a new start after a challenging market phase," said Jihong He, CEO International Business of the Huazhu Group.
