Global Hotel Alliance
GHA Discovery loyalty program with more benefits
The eleven million members of GHA Discovery, the Global Hotel Alliance's largest loyalty program worldwide, can look forward to further benefits: more benefits, extended status levels and the opportunity to redeem rewards for services in hotels and resorts even without an overnight stay.
A central component of the renewed program is the digital rewards currency Discovery Dollars (D$). From the first day of their stay, members can earn D$ and redeem them for future room bookings and upgrades as well as for spa treatments or dinners at the hotel. This applies even if they do not occupy a room. The percentage that is credited towards eligible expenses increases from four to seven percent with membership status.
Also new are the extended membership levels Silver, Gold, Platinum and Titanium, which are easier to achieve thanks to more flexible criteria. New members start with Silver status when they join the program and are entitled to benefits from their first stay. Progression to the next level is possible through the number of nights/stays, spend on eligible purchases or the number of hotel brands they have stayed at. Titanium members benefit from status sharing, they can gift their tier to a friend or family member each year.
The third new feature is the "Live Local" offer, which gives members access to the hotel's own beach, gym and pool as well as discounted prices on food or wellness at the hotel, even without a stay. They can also enjoy Experiences, tailor-made experiences in the local area, from cultural events and courses to nature expeditions.
"Ultimately, the new GHA discovery program will help revitalize popular international destinations while building local travel communities," says CEO Chris Hartley. "We are taking a very forward-thinking approach to customer engagement that not only meets the needs of today's consumers, but also gives them a good reason to spend money, supporting the organic recovery of the travel and hospitality industry as an important part of the global economic recovery in 2022."
With the addition of the NH Hotel Group and its 360 hotels in early 2022, the GHA comprises a selection of more than 800 properties to earn and redeem rewards. The ultra-luxury hotels and resorts of GHA's Ultratravel Collection are part of this. The portfolio of world-class properties in sought-after destinations, including remote islands and off-the-beaten-track locations, addresses the demand for bespoke luxury travel that prioritizes privacy, social distancing and a sustainable approach.
Participation in GHA Discovery is free of charge. Those interested can register online or download the GHA Discovery app.
