E-ticket compulsory for the DomRep
Digital registration form required for entry from April 1
The Dominican Republic introduced an electronic registration form (e-ticket) back in November 2020. This is intended to simplify and speed up the entry and exit processes at the airports and cruise ports. From April 1, 2021, the e-ticket is now a prerequisite for entry for all holidaymakers.
Uncomplicated handling
The e-ticket must be completed by the traveler. Families with up to 7 people can use one form. It can be accessed via the link eticket.migracio.gob.do/. The digital form replaces the other three paper forms that were previously used (international entry and exit card and the customs and health declaration). Until March 31, 2021, the authorities will accept both form variants on a transitional basis; from April 1, only the digital form will be accepted.
The e-ticket platform is multilingual, including in German. In addition to general information, such as passport number, home address, place of residence in the Dominican Republic and customs information, a health declaration is also created. No customs declaration is created for accompanying children. Once the form has been completed, the traveler receives two QR codes. One is required for entry and must be shown to the Dominican authorities at the airport or cruise port. The second code is used to confirm that the data has been filled in correctly.
Although there is free WIFI at the airports in the Dominican Republic, so that the form can theoretically be completed after arrival - but definitely before passport control! - but it is recommended that you complete the e-ticket at least 72 hours before departure. If travel plans change, the form must be completed again. The last form submitted is always valid.
