Since January 23, Boyens has been in charge of Operations and Management for Southern Europe, including Italy, Spain and Portugal. Prior to that, he spent eleven years in the USA at The Peninsula Beverly Hills and Hotel Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica. Boyens will relocate to Milan for his new role at Belmond.
Iain Langridge joined Belmond in 2020 as Divisional Managing Director for Asia Pacific. Since then, he has led the company's Asian hotels through the pandemic, developing and implementing ambitious plans that have enhanced the guest experience and increased the brand's appeal in the region. Over the past three years, Iain has taken on additional responsibilities at a global level and has played an active role in several committees that have led to the roll-out of strategic initiatives across the business. In his new role, Langridge is responsible for operations and management of the newly created Northern Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific division. These include city hotels such as The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel in London and Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel in Cape Town, the Michelin-starred Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons, three safari lodges in Botswana and resorts such as Napasai, A Belmond Hotel, Koh Samui and Jimbaran Puri, A Belmond Hotel, Bali.
The two appointments follow the recent restructuring of the company, which saw the creation of the new Southern Europe and Northern Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific divisions. Roeland Vos, CEO of Belmond, said: "Both Christian and Iain are exceptional leaders with a proven track record of achieving excellence and a great passion for developing and nurturing the next generation of hospitality talent. We are delighted that they will both lead these newly created divisions as we continue to strengthen our portfolio by increasing brand appeal and operational excellence."
