Current initiatives of the Egypt Tourism Authority

News & insights for travel experts

With its current projects, the Egypt Tourism Authority is showing optimism for progress and exciting initiatives for travel experts. For example, the Tourism Authority is covering part of the costs for tour operators who include Egypt in their marketing campaigns. This also includes fam trips, press trips and the involvement of influencers.

Also worth knowing: Egypt is currently investing heavily in tourism infrastructure: the road and highway network is being expanded and high-speed train lines are being built to connect the Nile region and the Red Sea with the Mediterranean. The construction projects should be completed in three years. This will enable travelers to reach the pyramids in Giza much more quickly, for example.

In addition, western Cairo is to be greatly expanded in the coming years. Sphinx Airport International has just been opened and an incentive program for airlines has been set up to provide financial support to any airline that flies to an Egyptian airport. The Egypt Tourism Authority is also focusing on yacht tourism as a major topic for the future.
