The W Budapest skillfully blends Hungarian history with modern luxury. Even the magnificent gold-colored "W" in front of the neoclassical building catches the eye. Built in 1883 by Ödon Lechner, the palace impresses from the outside with its neo-Gothic elements and has an almost sacred feel. Inside, guests are greeted by a bright courtyard that combines historical details such as stained-glass windows and stucco with modern accents like moss-green lounge furniture and a simple gold fountain.

With 151 rooms and suites spread across five floors, the hotel exudes an intimate atmosphere despite its size. Particularly noteworthy are the rooms, which shine with design elements such as black-and-white tiled walls—inspired by the Hungarian chess tradition—and playful mirrors that pay homage to Zsa Zsa Gabor.

The hotel’s own restaurant, Nightingale by Beefbar, offers a culinary variety ranging from Asian tapas to first-class beef specialties. Large glass doors open up a view of the Hungarian State Opera House, lending the restaurant a special atmosphere.

A highlight is the AWAY® Spa, which, with its mirrored corridors and the WET® Pool, is a whimsical wellness oasis. Inspired by Harry Houdini, the spa combines illusion with relaxation. The speakeasy bar “Society25” continues this illusion with creative cocktails.
