Located on the eastern shore of Lake Como , Il Sereno was designed by Patricia Urquiola and has quickly made a name for itself beyond the borders of Lombardy. The success of this hotel, which features just 30 suites, is evident not least in its in-house Ristorante Al Lago, for which head chef Raffaele Lenzi earned a Michelin star in record time in November 2022.

Among the hotel’s highlights, which stands out from the surrounding hotels simply due to its extraordinary design, is the newly opened spa—also designed by Patricia Urquiola—located in the former boathouse. The cool ambiance of the centuries-old granite walls, combined with various shades of green that reflect the colors of the lake, has a calming effect on the senses. Two of the three treatment rooms feature massive, floor-to-ceiling windows offering fantastic views of Lake Como. The third treatment room, equipped with an integrated shower, is designed for couples’ treatments. The wellness area at Il Sereno also includes a sauna, a steam room tiled with Italian tiles, and a private outdoor relaxation area with a plunge pool.

Guests who place a high value on luxury right from the moment they arrive can be picked up at Milan’s Malpensa Airport in the hotel’s own Maserati Quattroporte. The limousine, furnished with leather and silk by Ermenegildo Zegna, is of course also available for tours of the surrounding area. No less glamorous are the hotel’s own motorboats from the legendary luxury shipyard of Ernesto Riva, which guests can use to take excursions across Lake Como.
